More Information

Arne Jacobsen’s iconic Ant Chair (1952) was an early experiment in molded wood veneer with artful curves and a gracefully narrowed center like a musical instrument. The Ant Upholstered Chair has a back with a gentle give and comfortable curved seat. The front of the chair is upholstered in lightly padded fabric or leather, which contrasts with sleek steel legs. Its lithe, slender form belies its remarkable strength and comfort. When the Ant Chair was first designed, Jacobsen told the manufacturer that he’d buy all the chairs if they didn’t sell. Of course, he never had to make good on that offer, as the chair quickly became an international success. Made in Poland.
