With everything he created, Danish designer Børge Mogensen employed what he called the “workshop” method, by which he meant making furniture that was well-crafted and utilitarian. A result of this approach is the Asserbo Bench (1961), which he designed for his own vacation home in Asserbo, Denmark. Made of solid, dark-oiled eucalyptus with visible brushed brass screws adding a touch of quiet elegance, this bench showcases Mogensen’s belief that when you use beautiful materials, the need for decorative embellishments is unnecessary. Made in Vietnam.
Available with or without a backrest.
Solid eucalyptus, a hard wood known for its subtle woodgrain and scarcity of knots.
The wood comes from sustainably forested, fast-growing eucalyptus trees.
Visible brass screw hardware.
Soft rounded edges warm this Shaker-like design.
Seat cushion available, sold separately.
