Originally designed to furnish the offices of the Secretariat building in Chandigarh’s Capitol Complex, this chair has been reinterpreted by Cassina as a tribute to Pierre Jeanneret. The designer, along with Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand, was a key figure in creating the government compound in 1951, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016. The chair reflects Jeanneret’s preference for quality materials and minimalist shapes. It is constructed of oak with a Viennese cane seat supported by two V-shape legs.
Solid oak structure.
Woven Viennese cane seat and back.
Sturdy V-shape legs.
