Initially conceived as a rocking stool, Isamu Noguchi’s Cyclone Table (1954) – named for its playful shape – caught the attention of Hans Knoll, who thought it a perfect complement to the Bertoia wire collection. At the suggestion of Knoll, Noguchi adapted the stool into a table with a laminate or veneer top mounted on a distinctive base of steel wires set into a cast-iron foot.
Dynamic cyclone-inspired profile.
Interesting combination of materials.
Isamu Noguchi’s signature stamped into top’s underside.
